Ricciardo ready to challenge Vettel

(Florent Gooden - DPP1)

New Red Bull Racing Daniel Ricciardo does not expect a similar 'Multi 21' situation like the Malaysian Grand Prix last season. Speaking ahead of his debut for the World champions Ricciardo has stated that he and Vettel won't be the best of friends however he will do his best for the team and if he is in a position to challenge for a Grand Prix win he will.

Ricciardo stated that he knows that Vettel trains hard and works hard but he is by no means invincible. For the first time in his Formula One career Sebastian Vettel will be the senior team mate in terms of age as Mark Webber.

When asked about how he feels the RB10 will get on Ricciardo said that the team do not now how competitive they are or how reliable the car is. Over the course of the final Bahrain test the Milton Keynes based squad could only manage to complete 183 laps with Ricciardo completing the lions share of laps as he did 105 laps with Sebastian Vettel completing 78 laps.

Red Bull Racing have worked extremely hard on the RB10 and Ricciardo is hopeful that they will be able to get to the chequered flag in Australia however and is hopeful that the outfit can score some points at the start of the season but has warned that the team have yet to prove what they can do with the car.

There are just four day's to go until on track action starts in Albert Park Melbourne with Friday practice.
