(Lotus F1 Team)
The Lotus F1 Team took to the Jerez circuit this morning,
ahead of schedule with Pastor Maldonado behind the wheel of the Mercedes Benz
powered E23.
The team stated on Sunday after arriving at the circuit and
missing out on day of running that they planned to run the car on Tuesday after
an overnight build on Sunday and set up work on Monday however, they have
decided to run the new car today. Maldonado has conducted a number of
installation runs after taking to the track just after 10.30 local time.
The team plan to get a much running on track done as
possible over the next three days because unlike McLaren and Honda the Enstone
based outfit never conducted a shakedown test of the Mercedes power unit.
