Ferrari's Fernando Alonso is currently fastest for the Italian team as teams have taken an unofficial lunch break ahead of the final afternoon of running in Jerez before the teams decamp back to their various HQ before flying out to Bahrain for the second test session which gets underway on 19th February.

Speaking to the media ahead of the final day of testing the Spaniard insisted that he is happy to work alongside the returning Kimi Raikkonen who spent the first two day's of the Jerez test at the wheel of the F14T and that he (Alonso) wants to ensure that they give the team the best opportunity to challenge for this year's Drivers and Constructors championships.

Raikkonen, who was the teams last driver's champion in 2007 has been brought back to the team following two years at the Lotus F1 Team. The team's chasssis technical director James Allison described Kimi as great at giving technical feedback on the car which has enabled the team to sort out any issues that they have had.

He said that although the Finn doesn't talk too much they are very pleased with his progress so far.

The Mercedes AMG F1 Team have just confirmed that Lewis Hamilton will take over running the W05 from Nico Rosberg this afternoon. Rosberg is currently second. Hamilton missed some running on Tuesday following his front wing failure.

During his time on track this morning Nico Rosberg ran through a full race simulation which means that the Mercedes team as most teams are using this week's test to sort out reliability issues and to run system checks.
