Lotus release an image of the new E22 in action in Jerez last week

The Lotus F1 Team have released the first image of Pastor Maldonado putting their new E22 through its first shakedown run at the Jerez circuit in Spain.

 

Maldonado completed two day's of 'filming' for the team. On the opening day he did one full lap of the circuit and brought the car back in. The team then completed the 100KM distance that is allowed by the FIA for filming days.

 

The team were unable to conduct the test with the 2014 spec Pirelli tyres and instead used an old set of tyres. There were no reports of any technical issues with the new car and the team will be in Bahrain next week to take part in the second preseason test after electing to skip the first test in Jerez in order to do further work on their new car.

 

Following the shakedown of the new car the Lotus F1 Team confirmed that they did not conduct any development work on the car during the test.
