Mercedes powered team's occupy the top three as F1 prepares for the afternoon session in Bahrain

(Mercedes AMG F1)

As the Formula One team's prepare for the afternoon session on day of winter testing at the Bahrain International Circuit it's the Mercedes powered teams who are topping the times with Sahara Force India's Nico Hulkenberg leading a Mercedes power 1,2,3..

The German is 0.157s ahead of 'works' Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg. Following a disappointing day yesterday for Felipe Massa in the Williams so far today his team mate Valtteri Bottas has been running well and is currently third in the Mercedes powered FW36.

Ferrari's Fernando Alonso is the first of the non Mercedes powered cars and is currently in fourth place just ahead of McLaren's Kevin Magnussen.

Following a frustrating first day yesterday so far it has been a far more productive day for reigning world champions Red Bull Racing and Sebastian Vettel as the German has completed 43 laps so far. He is the leading Renault powered car.

Testing concludes for today in just over one hour.
