Infiniti Red Bull Racing's Daniel Ricciardo has stated that he does not feel extra pressure ahead of the 2015 Formula One season as the Australian will step up to the role of lead driver at the Milton Keynes based outfit following the departure of four time world champion Sebastian Vettel.

Ricciardo joined the Red Bull senior team ahead of the start of the 2014 Formula One season replacing countryman Mark Webber as Vettel's team mate and was expected to struggle against the German as he was seen as entering the 'lions den'. However in his first race with the team in Melbourne in March, Ricciardo qualified ahead of Vettel and although he was disqualified from the race.

Ricciardo went on to win three Grand Prix this season compared to none for Vettel and finished on the podium eight times this season.

Ricciardo went on to finish in third place in the championship, 71 points ahead of team mate Sebastian Vettel. Ricciardo will have a new team mate in 2015 with Daniil Kvyat stepping up to Infiniti Red Bull Racing after just season in Formula One with Scuderia Toro Rosso.

Speaking to the official Red Bull website, Ricciardo said that in 2014 he proved himself as a race winner and he knows what he can do when he has a good car.

The Australian said that he feels no pressure if he is in a car that is in 6th or 7th place when it is capable of finishing third or fourth.
