Ferrari North America president replaces Stefano Domenicali

The Italian media are reporting that following Stefano Domenicali's resignation from the Formula One team that Ferrari North America president  Marco Mattiacci with immediate affect. This is far from ideal preparation for the Italian team as the Formula One circus heads to China for this weekend's Grand Prix at the Shanghai International Circuit.
 
Stefano Domenicali took up the role of Ferrari tem principal  role at Ferrari in 2008 following Jean Todt's departure form the team, leading the team to the 2008 Constructors championship.
 
Since then the team have failed to win the championship and the Italian team brought in Kimi Raikkonen from Lotus for the 2014 season to partner Fernando Alonso, the man who replaced the Finn at the Italian team ahead of the 2010 F1 season.


Ferrari are the second BIG team to replace their team principal after McLaren replaced Martin Whitmarsh at the start of the year with former Lotus team boss Eric Boullier.
