Hulkenberg looking for consistency throughout the season

Sahara Force India driver Nico Hulkenberg heads to the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona in two week's time with the aim to secure his first podium for the Silverstone based team following an extremely strong start to the season which sees the German currently 4th in Driver's standing's three point's ahead of Sebastian Vettel.

 

Hulkenberg has recorded a string of top ten finishes in the first four Grand Prix of the season. Last time out in China he finished the race in 6th place just ahead of the Williams driver of Valtteri Bottas and Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen.

 

Force India have given their driver's Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez the car which has allowed them to show their true pace and particularly in the hands of Hulkenberg as he has been the more consistent of the two and that is why the team head to Barcelona in third place in Constructors championship just three points behind reigning world champions Red Bull Racing.

 

When asked by the Times of India, Hulkenberg about getting on the podium, Hulknberg said:

 

'It's definitely the goal, but the most important thing is consistency over the year and to make sure we are scoring points at each race.'

The team have already secured their first podium of the season as Sergio Perez finished the Bahrain GrandPrix in third place with the Hulk coming through the field from eleventh on the grid to finish in fifth place.

Hulkenberg went on to say that he feels that the sacrifices that the team made last season have so far paid off and that along with the new regulations have allowed the team to be more competitive this season.

The team are certainly well ahead of where they were at this point in the season last year. Heading to Barcelona last year they were on 26 point's, however fast forward 12 months and they are doubt that and will be hoping that the upgrades that they bring to Spain will enable them to move closer to Red Bull Racing.
