Pedromou placed on gardening leave as Red Bull appoint Dan Fallows as his replacement

(McLaren Mercedes)

McLaren Mercedes are considering taking legal action against Formula One rivals Red Bull Racing after the Milton Keynes based squad replaced McLaren bound Peter Pedromou with Dan Fallows who becomes the teams new chief Aerodynamicist as McLaren has said that the Brit has a legally binding contract to join the Woking based outfit.

In McLaren's pre-season media literature Dan Fallows was mentioned alongside Peter Pedromou, Ciaron Pilbeam and former Lotus F1 Team employee Ettore Griffini as new additions to their technical department.

The Woking based team have revealed that as they understood they had secured the services of Fallows they have referred the matter to their legal department.

McLaren's recent recruitment drive was always on the cards and is not a reaction to the team's poor performance last season which saw the team fail to secure a single podium finish and end the season in fifth place in Constructors championship behind Lotus, Ferrari, Mercedes and champions Red Bull Racing.

McLaren and Red Bull have yet to win a race this season however despite this McLaren are currently ahead of the reigning world champions in the Constructors championship which for the team's is the important one as it where the money comes from and the higher up the table you finish the more bigger share of the prize money you will receive at the end of the season.

McLaren are currently third in the Constructors championship on 43 point's while Red Bull Racing are in fourth place on 35 point's, however, if Red Bull's appeal is successful next week they will leap frog McLaren in the standing's. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.
