Force India focused on finishing in the top five

(Sahara Force India Formula One Team)

The Sahara Force India are focused on finishing in fifth place in this season's Constructors championship following what has been an extremely competitive season for the Silverstone based outfit which has seen the team score their first podium finish since the 2009 Belgian Grand Prix when Sergio Perez secured a fantastic third place finish at the Bahrain night race.

Nico Hulkenberg has had one of his best seasons in Formula One and has scored points in every race of the season with the exception of the Hungarian Grand Prix which was the last race before the Summer break as both Force India cars went out of the race. Hulkenberg also failed to score points last time out at the Italian Grand Prix.

The German goes to Singapore in search of his first podium finish of the season and Singapore would be the perfect place to do as the race is held at night and the track conditions during the Bahrain Grand Prix suited the VJM07 as Sergio Perez finished the race in third place while Hulkenberg came home in 5th place having start the race from 11th place.

Hulkenberg has stated that the team's goal remains to finish ahead of McLaren in the Constructors championship something that is certainly achievable as the Silverstone based outfit are just one point behind the McLaren team.

Hulkenberg has admitted that while beating McLaren is the overall goal he feels that beating beating Williams and Ferrari this season is now out of the question as they are too far ahead of Force India at this point in the season. The German feels that his team will be able to beat McLaren this season IF they can string together strong points scoring finishes during the final six Grand Prix of the season.

The Sahara Force India Formula One Team along with Williams Martini Racing Team have been the stand out performers of the midfield back with Williams now establishing themselves as a top three team behind Mercedes and Infiniti Red Bull Racing with Force India challenging Ferrari and then there is the rest.
