Pirelli nominate compounds for Japan and Russia

Pirelli motorsport have confirmed this afternoon the tyre compounds that will be available for the up coming Japanese and the inaugural Russian Grand Prix at the Sochi circuit. For next weekend's Singapore night race the teams will use the Red walled Super Soft along with the Yellow walled Soft tyre.

For the following race, the Japanese Grand Prix at the Suzuka circuit the Italian company has opted to bring the White walled Medium and Orange walled Hard compound tyre's for the event which takes place from 3rd - 5th October.

For the inaugural Russian Grand Prix at the Sochi street circuit Pirelli have opted for the Yellow Soft tyre along with the White Medium compound tyre.

Pirelli's reasoning behind choosing the Medium and Soft P-Zero tyre's was because Pirelli tyre engineers felt that following simulations on the circuit that those particular compounds were best suited to the those compounds.

Pirelli confirmed that they will announce the compounds for the final three races in the USA, Brazil and Abu Dhabi following the Russian Grand Prix.
