Organisers of the Chinese Grand Prix at the Shanghai
International Circuit have said that they are unsure of whether or not they
will look to renew their Formula One contract.
The race in Shanghai has been on the Formula One calendar
since 2004 and their current deal runs until the 2017 Formula One season. Over
the course of this year’s event a total of 145,000 spectators went through the
turnstiles of the Shanghai International Circuit.
The race organiser, Yang Yiben, who manages Juss Event has
stated that the local government in Shanghai will analyses whether or not the
Chinese Grand Prix contributes to Shanghai’s position on the International
stage.
The event had been sponsored by UBS up until last season
however the contract was not renewed for this season.
