Current contract could be China's last

Organisers of the Chinese Grand Prix at the Shanghai International Circuit have said that they are unsure of whether or not they will look to renew their Formula One contract.

The race in Shanghai has been on the Formula One calendar since 2004 and their current deal runs until the 2017 Formula One season. Over the course of this year’s event a total of 145,000 spectators went through the turnstiles of the Shanghai International Circuit.

The race organiser, Yang Yiben, who manages Juss Event has stated that the local government in Shanghai will analyses whether or not the Chinese Grand Prix contributes to Shanghai’s position on the International stage.

The event had been sponsored by UBS up until last season however the contract was not renewed for this season.
