New spec Honda power unit in Spain

Honda will increase the output of their power unit for this weekend’s Bahrain Grand Prix before introducing a brand new specification power unit for the Spanish Grand Prix.

McLaren Honda have failed to make it out Q1 so far this season however Racing Director Eric Boullier says that the team will keep improving but has refused to give dates as to when improvements will come as they will continue bringing them at each Grand Prix event this season.

Last time out at the Chinese Grand Prix last weekend, the Woking based outfit scored their first double race finish as Fernando Alonso finished the race in 12th place while Jenson Button ended the race in 14th place respectively.

Boullier also confirmed that for the start of the European season in Barcelona not only will Honda provide them with an updated power unit but the team will have a stronger aerodynamic package for the MP4-30.
