Scuderia Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen looks set to remain with the team next season. The 2015 Formula One season may be just three races old but reports in Italy suggest that the Finn who is out of contract with the Maranello based outfit at the end of the season retired from the first race of the season in Australia, however since than he has had two great results with a pair of fourth place finishes in Malaysia and last weekend in China.

Ferrari Team Principal Maurizio Arrivabene has stated that he believes that his outfit have the perfect driver pairing in Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen.

It is believed that Ferrari who have an option on Raikkonen will activate it within the next two to three Grand Prix. The Finn also has an option to remain with the team and appears to a lot happier in the new environment within the team after the arrival of Sergio Marchionne as Chairman and Maurizio Arrivabene as Team Principal.

The SF15-T is an extremely strong package and Ferrari technical director James Allison and the design team have done a great job.

Ferrari head into this weekend’s Bahrain Grand Prix in second place in the championship just forty points behind the Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team.

Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel work extremely well together and it is unlikely that Ferrari will want to upset that by bringing in a new driver to partner Vettel for next season. Arrivabene has already said that the team need to support the ‘sensitive’ Kimi and that the Iceman has shown that he have achieve great results when he has a great car.

Raikkonen has also stated that he believes that Ferrari can be great everywhere.
