(Sauber F1 Team)
The Sauber F1 Team have refused to comment on speculation that Canadian billionaire Lawrence Stroll is set to buy into the Swiss based Formula One team who have yet to score a point so far this season and have struggled so far in 2014.
Stroll was involved with Tommy Hilfiger and Polo Ralph Lauren and is a motor racing enthusiast who has a large collection of Ferrari road cars. Ferrari also happen to be the Sauber F1 Team's power unit supplier. Stroll's net worth is estimated at $2.3 billion.
In 2005, the Sauber F1 Team was bought by BMW who ran the team as the BMW Sauber F1 Team from 2006 until they pulled out of Formula One at the end of 2009.
The Swiss based team was bought back by former team owner and team founder Peter Sauber who continued to run the team for 2010 season as BMW Sauber with a supply of Ferrari engines. In October 2012 Sauber made Monisha Keltenborn who made history by becoming Formula One's first ever female team principal.
There has been a lot speculation surrounding the Sauber F1 Team's future in Formula One in recent weeks and if this latest does indeed prove to be true it would go a long way to securing the long term future of the team.
