Change in design philosphy at Ferrari

Scuderia Ferrari Technical Director James Allison has confirmed that he has changed the cultural within the team in the way they think.

Allison has stated that he has tried to end of culture of short term solutions as a way of easing the pressure on the design office. Instead of the team working to a time frame of a view weeks they should be thinking long term as in months and years and it also means that they will not make changes overnight.


Allison who returned to the Maranello based outfit at the end of 2013 Formula One season and confirmed that with the 2015 car they actually started the development of the aerodynamic programme, this starting midway through the 2014 season. The engine programme for 2015 began in May 2014.

Scuderia Ferrari are currently in second place in the Constructors championship on 52 points, 24 behind the Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team following Sebastian Vettel’s victory at Malaysian Grand Prix.

Kimi Raikkonen is hopeful that the team will be in a position to challenge Mercedes once again this weekend in China.
