Scuderia Ferrari Technical Director James Allison has
admitted that the Italian outfit have their work cut out if they are to score a
repeat victory in China next weekend.
In only his second race for the Prancing Horse at last
weekend’s Malaysian Grand Prix Sebastian Vettel took victory by over 8 seconds
from reigning world champion, Lewis Hamilton in his Mercedes W06.
The victory was Ferrari’s first since the 2013 Spanish Grand
Prix at the Barcelona Circuit de Catalunya. Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen
have shown that the team have produced a competitive car this season with
Mercedes Lewis Hamilton admitting that he has been surprised by the pace of the
SF15-T.
Allison believes that the conditions in China will be
different to those the team’s experienced in Malaysia last weekend. The
Englishman stated that the team had a decent cooling package on the SF15-T
which helped the performance of the car.
Scuderia Ferrari have some exciting developments in the
pipeline according to Allison and he believes that the team have plenty of
performance to come to the car.
Ferrari showed incredible race pace at the permanent Sepang
race circuit while at the temporary street circuit of Albert Park in Melbourne
they struggled against the Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team as Lewis Hamilton and
Nico Rosberg completely dominated the race.
The Shanghai International Circuit in China is another
permanent race track which could be potentially beneficial to Ferrari however a
lot will depend on what the weather conditions are like at the venue over the
course of the race weekend.
