Hamilton not interested in revenge

(Mercedes AMG F1 Team)

Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team driver Lewis Hamilton has stated that he has no intention or interest in getting pay back on team mate Nico Rosberg following the the pairs racing incident at last weekend's Belgian Grand Prix which saw the 2008 world champion retire from the Grand Prix while Rosberg went on to finish the race in second place and in doing so extended his championship lead over Hamilton to 29 points.

Hamilton has stated that he only has the best interests of the team in mind and will do everything in his power to obtain the best possible result for the Brackley based outfit.

Hamilton heads to the Italian Grand Prix at the start of September having finished the race there last year in 9th place while Rosberg finished the race in 6th place. Mercedes will be hoping for a much better result there this season and will also be looking to get back to winning ways as the Silver Arrows have now failed to take victory in the last two Grand Prix in Hungary and Belgium.

Despite missing out on the last two Grand Prix wins the team are still on target to wrap up the Constructors championship early provided that there is not repeat of the racing incident from Sp Francorchamps.

The team are currently 157 points ahead of Infiniti Red Bull Racing, their closest rivals in the Constructors championship. The characteristics of the Monza circuit should suit the Mercedes powered team's due to the high speed nature of the circuit while Red Bull had expected prior to the Belgian Grand Prix weekend that their next opportunity to take victory would could come at the Singapore Grand Prix in September.

However having taken victory at the Belgium Grand Prix last weekend the Milton Keynes based outfit may be in a position to challenge for the race win particularly as Sebastian Vettel will have a new chassis for that event.
