Sainz Jnr set to get a run in the Caterham this season

Red Bull Junior driver Carlos Sainz Jnr looks set to make his Formula One debut with the Caterham F1 Team later this season according to Sky Sports F1 who reported following today's Belgian Grand Prix that Red Bull will pay the Caterham F1 Team to put the Spaniard in the car.

Kamui Kobayashi was replaced for this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix at Spa Francrochamps by World Endurance Championship driver Andre Lotterer who is a friend of new Caterham F1 Team adviser Colin Kolles and it is expected that the team will put a different driver in the second seat alongside Marcus Ericsson for each of the remaining seven race's with Kobayashi who is still part of the set up at the Leafield outfit expected to be back in the car for the Japanese Grand Prix.

Sky's Ted Kravitz has also reported that Mercedes are prepared to pay to put German Touring car driver Roberto Merhi in the Caterham seat as he was spotted in the Belgian Grand Prix paddock during the race weekend.

Caterham are currently in eleventh place in the Constructors championship and are yet to score a point in Formula One. 

It is not yet known who will be in the seat alongside Marcus Ericsson for the next race, the Italian Grand Prix at the Monza circuit as Andre Lotterer's deal was just for this weekend's race at the Belgian Grand Prix.
