The Caterham F1 Team have been forced to cut short their Barcelona test programme after the Leafield outfit discovered that the car was irreparably damaged after Kamui Kobayashi crashed at Turn 3 towards the end of Tuesday's running.
In a statement released by the team they said: 'Having assessed the damage to chassis CT05-03 after Kamui's accident yesterday in the final half-hour of day one, we have decided not to run on day two'.
The team had been due to run test driver Robin Frijns today in place of Kobayashi in preparation for next weekend's Monaco Grand Prix. Kobayashi had a productive day despite the crash as he completed 72 laps for the team.
