Louder exhaust didn't work

(Mercedes AMG F1 Team)

The Mercedes AMG Formula One Team tested a new 'louder' exhaust on their W05 on Wednesday on the final day of the Barcelona Circuit de Catalunya test after being asked by the FIA to help find a solution to the noise complaints that has blighted the sport since the start of the 2014 season.

Nico Rosberg was behind the wheel of the W05 testing the new system. However, the German has stated that the new exhaust system did not work. Speaking at the conclusion of test Rosberg said:

'Unfortunately it didn't change anything, so we need to keep pushing, he went on to say: 'As a team, we want to - for the sport - make things louder, so we need to try some other solutions, because this was not the right solution.'

The new sound of Formula One is fantastic and it is not too quiet as it has been mentioned before new systems take time to settle and we are only five Grand Prix into the new era of Formula One and the sport should if thee want spend a longer time coming up with a solution to the noise issue.
