Gene Haas' Formula One project is steadily taking shape with reports suggesting that Haas Formula will be in a position to announce their technical partners this week. Media reports in the US are suggesting that the team's F1 facility which will be alongside its NASCAR operation is well under construction with the roof already in place on the new building beside Stewart Haas Racing.
The team are still aiming to be on the grid in 2015 and it is believed that Ferrari are keen to supply the American team with V6 power units.
Haas confirmed recently that he will hold talks with former Ferrari team boss Stefano Domenicali about the possibility of the Italian joining Haas Formula in a senior role. Domenicali would be the perfect fit for the new team should they secure Ferrari power due to Domenicali's experience working with the Italian company.
There has been very little news recently in relation to the teams plans which is a good thing because they are just getting on with the job at hand which is putting the right people together for the team. Haas has already stated that he wants Haas Formula to be competitive as soon as they hit the track and that they are not just another team on the grid.
Stewart Haas Racing's Kurt Busch will compete in the Indy 500 / Coca - Cola 600 this weekend. Busch has stated that he will not race for his bosses new F1 team but insists that Gene Haas' F1 plans are serious.
