The Lotus F1 Team have confirmed that they carry a special tribute to Spanish painter El Greco during next weekend's Spanish Grand Prix at the Circuit De Catalunya in Barcelona.

The special tribute will appear on the side pod of both Romain Grosjean's and Pastor Maldonado's E22. The tribute will promote the El Greco Exhibition that is currently taking place in Toledo at the moment. The exhibition commemorates the 400th anniversary of  El Greco's death.

Lotus team owner Gerard Lopez said:

'We will promote the El Greco exhibition – for no commercial fee - to a global TV audience of over 600 million people. Through this the legend of El Greco will be displayed in support of Spanish Culture and cultural tourism in Spain.'

As part of the Spanish Grand Prix weekend the team will present King Juan Carlos with commemorative helmet as the King is due to visit the Lotus F1 Team motorhome on Sunday.

El Greco was a leading a figure during the Spanish Renaissance.
