German Grand Prix
(Alastair Staley Lotus F1 Team)

The Lotus F1 Team want to keep Romain Grosjean next season after it confirmed last weekend that Pastor Maldonado will stay at the Enstone based outfit next season. Speaking ahead of this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix which officially marks the start of the second half of the 2014 season the Lotus F1 Team's deputy team principal Frederico Gastaldi commented:

'Romain has been part of the Lotus F1 Team family for many years, even since his GP2 days,Let's be honest. Romain as a top, top driver is not happy with the 2014 season and this is mirrored by everyone at the team of course.'

The Lotus F1 Team have really struggled since the start of the 2014 season which has seen them pick up just eight point's far this season however they have seen a gradual improvement in their overall pace in recent Grand Prix and head to Hungarian Grand Prix aiming to score points for the first time since the Monaco Grand Prix in May.

Gastaldi refused to confirm what the teams plans are but what he would say was:

'We cannot confirm anything just yet as the timing will be right when we are both comfortable to announce something. All I can say is that it's certainly the intention for Romain to stay at Enstone and continue what has been a great partnership and working relationship.'

The team are currently in 8th place in the Constructors championship and will be hoping to close the gap to Toro Rosso this weekend as the Italian team are in 7th place on 15 points.
