Mercedes celebrate title wins with a parade through Brackley

The Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team hit the streets of their home town Brackley on Tuesday to celebrate their 2014 Formula One world championship success with the local community. Staff from the Silver Arrows drove through the town on an open top bus as thousands of people lined the streets to welcome the team home.

The world championship winning W05 chassis was put on display in the centre of Brackley where fans could takes photos of the car and have their pictures taken with the chassis that brought Lewis Hamilton his second world championship at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix two weeks ago. The celebrations in Brackley came after Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg appeared at the Stars and Cars event in Germany at the weekend where they performed donuts and burnouts for the assembled crowds.

The circuit around Brackley took in all of the historical sites of the area.

Following the celebrations it is now back to work for the team as they look to retain both the Drivers and Constructors championships in 2015. The first pre season Winter test gets underway in just nine weeks time at the Jerez circuit in Spain.
