Button fit and ready to race in Spain despite injury reports

McLaren Mercedes have rubbished media reports that Jenson Button will miss next weekend's Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona. Over the weekend, speculation was rife that Button was suffering from a leg injury as he 2009 world champion elected to pull out of a triathlon on the Canary Islands.

A McLaren spokesman was quick to dismiss the speculation as he confirmed:

'Jenson decided not to complete the Canary Islands triathlon, but he is fit and well and has, contrary to a few rogue media reports, no injuries of any kind.'

He went on to confirm that Jenson was in the McLaren Technology Centre on Monday carrying out simulator work a he prepares for the start of the European season.
