The Caterham F1 Team have confirmed that seven staff members were treated for smoke inhalation after a fire broke out at their Leafield headquarters on Wednesday night.
The incident happened in the teams pattern machine shop at approximately 10.45pm. In a statement the team confirmed that:
'It happened in our pattern machine shop and was out very quickly but it did create quite a bit of smoke," read a statement published by the Caterham team on social networking website Twitter. "Seven staff members were taken to hospital to be checked, six were released soon after and one kept in for observation, but he's OK
The accident will not have affected the teams preparations for this weekend's race in Bahrain as their cars and equipment were already in Bahrain.
Paddock Eye want to wish the injured staff members a speedy recovery.
