Michael Schumacher's manager, Sabine Kehm has issued a further update on the seven time world champions condition saying that the German is 'showing small signs of progress'.
Speaking to German broadcaster ARD Kehm continued:
'There are moments when he is awake and moments when he is conscious. Of course I am not a doctor, but medically, there is a distinction between being awake and being conscious, the latter meaning there is an ability to interact with his surroundings.
Schumacher suffered head injuries following an accident while skiing with his son on December 29 and has been receiving treatment in a hospital in Grenoble since. There has been plenty of speculation surrounding the German's condition in recent weeks and this latest news is very positive for the Schumacher family however should be received with guarded optimism.
Kehm went on to say:
'What upsets the family most is media quoting doctors who are not treating Michael and untruths are constructed from these'.
Kehm went on to say that the speculative reporting does not help matters and means that the family and herself have to clarify the situation regarding Schumacher even when they don't want to discuss the matter.
The fact of the matter is that Schumacher, like anyone else in his situation is receiving the best treatment possible and only when there is something to report it will be made known to the media.
