This weekend marks a very special moment for former IndyCar driver Simona De Silvestro as the Swiss driver makes her test debut for the Sauber F1 Team at Ferrari's test track in Fiorano, Italy.
The Swiss driver is testing for the team in a 2012 Sauber car after joining the Swiss based team in February. De Silvestro will be eligible for her mandatory FIA Super Licence once she has completed 300 Kilometres in the Sauber F1 car.
As she is testing for the team this weekend it means that she will eligible for her Super Licence following this weekend's test provided that she has completed the required mileage.

Prior to the start of her test De Silvestro carried out an awful lot of work behind the scenes at the team's HQ in Hinwil. The team have also confirmed their intention to give Simona a run in the 2014 C33 which would be fantastic for the former IndyCar driver.

Simona was extremely successful in the American IndyCar Series and there is absolutely no reason at all as to why she can't repeat tat success in Formula One.
