(Williams Martini Racing)
Williams Martini Racing driver Felipe Massa has stated that there are no problems with his relationship with the Grove based team after he was informed during the closing stages of the Malaysian Grand Prix that team mate Valtteri Bottas who was behind him at the time was faster then the Brazilian. Massa went on to finish the race just ahead of Bottas and came in for some criticism following the race.
However, speaking ahead of this weekend's race in Bahrain, Massa said:
'I don't think it damaged the relationship' when the Brazilian was asked about what had happened in Malaysia.
The team have spoken to both drivers the week between the Grand Prix and as far as Massa is concerned the matter is now closed. He continued by saying:
'When I do something that is my mistake, I will be the first one to say sorry and the team was the first to say sorry here'.
The important thing for the Williams team is that they don't allow this situation to upset what has been a fantastic start to the season for the squad and by discussing the matter with Massa and Bottas they know where they stand and they can now move on and focus on delivering another good result for the team this weekend in Bahrain.
This is a big weekend for Felipe Massa and the entire Williams team as Rob Smedley will make his first race weekend appearance for the team has their new Head of Vehicle Performance.
