Spanish upgrade package key for Williams

(Williams Martini Racing)

Williams Martini Racing's Valtteri Bottas has stated that the outfit's upgrade package which will be on the FW36 for the Spanish Grand Prix next weekend will be key to the Grove based outfit continuing their great start to the 2014 season.

So far, in the first four Grand Prix of the season the team have scored points in every race and are currently 6th in the Constructors championship on 36 point's just seven behind McLaren. The team had hoped to have scored at least one podium this season but have not yet managed to do so.

The team head to Barcelona next week where they won the 2012 event at the Circuit De Catalunya when Pastor Maldonado took victory for the team. Bottas finished the last race in China in 7th place which is where the Finnish driver started the race from.

Williams are in a far better position so far this season then they were at this stage last year and have scored more points in the opening four race's of the season then they did throughout the entire 2013 season. The team have a new title sponsor in Martini which allows them to carry out greater development on their current car.

Bottas believes that the Spanish Grand Prix weekend will give the team an extremely strong indication of the direction that they they should take in relation to the development of the FW36.

The Finn was happy with the upgrade package that the team brought to the last race in China as they had no issues with the new parts and he is hopeful that the team can carry the momentum from China forward to Spain so that the team can continue their points scoring run.

Bottas has scored points in every race so far this season and as a result is currently in 7th place in the Driver's standing's on 24 points just one ahead of McLaren's Jenson Button.
