(Sauber F1 Team)
The Sauber F1 Team have confirmed this afternoon that their test driver Giedo Van Der Garde will drive the C33 in Free Practice 1 in Shanghai next week ahead of Sunday's Chinese Grand Prix.
Van Der Garde was in action for the Swiss based team in Bahrain this week and by taking part in the session next week the Dutchman will be taking part in his third FIA session in two week's. It is great news for the driver who dropped by the Caterham F1 Team at the end of last season in favour of Japan's Kamui Kobayashi.
It is unclear which one of the teams driver's will step aside for Van Der Garde in China, however Esteban Gutierrez was on the side lines in Bahrain so it is likely that Adrian Sutil will sit out the first session in China but the team will confirm their plans at a later date.
