Lewis Hamilton heads into this weekend's Grand Prix in China having secured back to back victories in Malaysia and Bahrain putting him just eleven point's behind Mercedes team mate Nico Rosberg.
Hamilton has won in Shanghai twice, in his championship winning year in 2008 and again in 2011. Mercedes have produced an incredibly competitive car that has seen the team secure five podium finishes in the opening three Grand Prix.
Despite their impressive start to the season Mercedes may pending tension within their ranks as Nico Rosberg was apparently unhappy with the way in which Lewis Hamilton pushed him out to the limits of the circuit in Bahrain. To help combat any in fighting, Mercedes have planned for their to be further discussions between their two driver's in the build up to the Grand Prix on Sunday.
It is not just their driver's that Mercedes may need to sort out as it has been reported in the Italian media today that Mercedes non executive chairman Niki Lauda has assessed the teams staff structure in the engine unit both in house at their Brackley base and at their engine facility in Brixworth and has reportedly come to the conclusion that 1,250 between the two site's is too many so he is prepares to shed some staff.
This is only speculation and not fact at the moment but it is certainly something which the F1 world will be keeping a very close eye on.
