The Subway Sandwiches chain are reportedly considering entering Formula One as a sponsor with not just one but 'several' teams according to a report in today's Telegraph in the UK.
The report says that Subway held talks with Bernie Ecclestone over the course of last season's Canadian Grand Prix about sponsoring a number of Formula One team's in what has been described as a 'Ground Breaking commercial deal'.
Formula One is about to embark on an even stronger relationship with the American market with NASCAR team owner Gene Haas set to announce his Formula One plans today after being issued with a Formula One licence on Friday opening the door for company's like Subway to get involved in Formula One.
The company are already heavily involved in Motorsport sponsorship as they are a major backer in NASCAR and with Formula One being a global sport it would certainly make commercial sense for the Brand to enter into Formula One.
