(Williams Martini Racing Team)
Williams Martini Racing's Valtteri Bottas is hoping that he can extract more performance from the FW36 during this afternoon's qualifying session ahead of tomorrow's Canadian Grand Prix. The Finn has a great record in Montreal having qualified in third place here last season for the Grove based team however when it came to the race he finished in 14th place.
Bottas finished Friday morning's session in fifth place just behind Red Bull Racing's Sebastian Vettel and just ahead of Daniel Ricciardo. In the second session Bottas finished in 7th place just behind team mate Felipe Massa.
Unfortunately for the Finn he was unable to complete clean lap in the second session when he was on the super soft. Speaking about Friday's running Bottas said:
'It was more or less what we expected, We got some good results from the changes we made from the last race, so it was nice to see some progress.'
Bottas went on to say:
'It seems like everyone is still struggling with tyre warm-up with the prime, but the option felt a lot better. I didn't have the perfect lap yet with the supersoft, so I think there's a little bit more to come.'
Williams head into the race tomorrow equal on point's with McLaren on 52 and are 6th in the Constructors championship.
