(Mercedes AMG F1 Team)
The Mercedes AMG F1 Team head into this afternoon's Canadian Grand Prix on the verge of making Formula One history.
If the team manage to collect another 1-2 finish they will become the first team to take six consecutive 1-2 finishes a feat which has never been achieved before. The Brackley based outfit have been so dominant this season that they have secured six wins in the first six Grand Prix of the season with Nico Rosberg taking two victories while Lewis Hamilton has four.
In qualifying yesterday the pair locked out the front row and with the team able to exploit their speed advantage on the long straights in Montreal it is difficult to see any other team other then the Silver Arrows taking the win today. Sebastian Vettel qualified a surprising third place for the reigning world champions which was a major achievement as before the session started their team boss Christian Horner said that they would be lucky if they were to a car on the third row.
As it happens his prediction was spot on as Daniel Ricciardo will start the race from the third row in 6th place alongside the Williams of Felipe Massa.
There are five cars in the top ten that are powered by Mercedes engine's so that has really shown how dominant the German manufacturer has been in the early stages of the 2014 season.
