Mercedes duo can race unless things get out of hand

(Mercedes AMG F1 Team)

Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff has stated that his two driver's Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton are still free to fight until such time that the situation gets nasty between the pair. Rosberg has a commanding lead of 22 point's over Lewis Hamilton at the top the championship following Hamilton's retirement from the last race, the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal.

Speaking in the build up to Formula One's long awaited return to Austria, Wolff said:

'There can't be any dirty moves, what happened a few years ago with Lewis and Fernando at McLaren is unacceptable in our team and would not happen, there would be severe consequences if that happened.'

Wolff has stated however that they would not hesitate to impose team orders if the team begin to have problems with the W05 like the issues that they had in Canada where both cars suffered power issues.Hamilton was forced to retire with a brake failure.

Nico Rosberg leads the championship despite the fact that he has only won two Grand Prix while Lewis Hamilton has won four back to back Grand Prix but Rosberg leads by virtue of the fact that every race that Hamilton has won has seen Rosberg finish second. Rosberg has also managed to complete every Grand Prix of the season so far and not only that but he has been on the podium every race so has been extremely consistent whereas Hamilton has retired from two Grand Prix, the opening race in Australia and last time out in Canada.
