Ferrari have been quick to clarify their president Luca Di Montezemelo's comments in relation to the Italian company's future in Formula One. Reports on Friday claimed that the company threatened to pull out of Formula One to concentrate on the endurance racing. Di Montezemelo has made no secret of the fact that he is not a fan of the new regulations in Formula One.

Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Di Montezemelo said: 'Formula One is not working'. Di Montezemelo went on to say that the Italian manufacturer can't run a Formula One programme alongside a endurance programme as it is not possible.

The Italian also stated that to say that the company will switch from Formula One to endurance racing is extreme.

The team have had a difficult start to the 2014 Formula One season and are currently 171 point's championship leaders Mercedes AMG Petronas.
