McLaren Mercedes Racing Director Eric Boullier is confident that both Jenson Button and Kevin Magnussen will stay at the Woking based outfit but admits that it is not the right time in the season to discuss plans for next season. Speaking to Sky Sports News following qualifying for tomorrow's Canadian Grand Prix the Frenchman said that the team need to sort out where their weaknesses and where the car needs to be improved.

Boullier didn't rule out the possibility of looking outside the team for personnel in order to get the Woking based outfit back to where they should be which is challenging for wins and championships. McLaren endured a difficult session as Jenson Button finished the session in 9th place just ahead of Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen while Kevin Magnussen will start the race from 12th on grid just behind the Sahara Force India F1 Team's Nico Hulkenberg.

Boullier revealed that he really appreciates the work that Jenson Button has been doing with the team and expects that they will be challenging for podium's later in the season however he is unsure whether or not the team will be in a position to win a Grand Prix this season.

McLaren move to Honda power next season and Boullier is hoping that the team have a good year with the Japanese manufacturer but is cautious as the team don't want a situation where they have a good season in 2015 and then struggle in 2016. Boullier pointed to the case of Jaguar as it took them a long time to become competitive and now they are Red Bull who have won the last driver's and constructor's championships in a row.

The team could struggle tomorrow as Jenson Button believes that due to the extremely high track temperatures that tyre wear will be extremely high during the Grand Prix so the team could find it hard to challenge for a podium but in Formula One anything can happen.
