The Canadian Grand Prix stewards have handed Lotus F1 Team driver Pastor Maldonado a post qualifying reprimand following the Venezuelan's failure to replace his steering wheel on his E22 after coming to a stop out on track in Q1.

In a statement, the race stewards said:

'The stewards noted that the car was not left in a dangerous position on the track and therefore a reprimand was appropriate.'

The reprimand is the first that Maldonado has received this season. The Venezuelan will start tomorrow's Canadian Grand Prix from 17th on the grid and will be hoping for a strong race performance having endured a difficult start to his career as at Lotus driver.
