New Formula One team owner Gene Haas has stated that he has
no regrets about entering Formula One with his new Haas F1 Team.
The American outfit who have their headquarters in Charlotte
North Carolina as well as a base in Banbury Oxfordshire has a logistical
challenge in getting their cars and team personnel to each race however Haas
believes that is achievable and he knows that he can get his crew to the hotels
and they can run the cars at the circuit and that the pit equipment shows up at
the same time.
Haas has also revealed that the team have no plans to run at
the back of the grid and that he is hopeful that given how competitive Ferrari
have been so far this season that will help his team in 2016 as Haas F1 will
have a supply of Ferrari power units.
Haas who runs an extremely successful NASCAR team with Tony
Stewart went on to say that the F1 team are learning one step at a time as they
been running various ideas in the wind-tunnel and through CFD simulations. Haas
revealed that the design and build stage of the car is on schedule and the team
hope to have all the data they need from Ferrari by mid-August/September.
The team will produce whatever they can themselves and that
they already have suppliers in place who will be able to help them with that.
