Qualifying for next weekend’s 99th running of the Indianapolis 500 has been delayed due to a severe rain storm at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Two drivers had managed to set a four lap average with reigning series champion Ryan Hunter Reay in the No. 28 Honda powered DHL Andretti Autosport chassis having set the pace with a four lap average of 229.845mph.

Dale Coyne Racing’s Carlos Huertas was the only other driver to completed qualifying in the No.18 Honda powered chassis with a four lap average speed of 228.235mph.
