The Manor Marussia F1 Team have bolstered their technical
line up by announcing that they have signed former Toyota Motorsport and Caterham
Team engineer Gianluca Pisanello to oversee their engineering department.
Pisanello was with the Toyota throughout their time in
Formula One and left the team in at the end of 2009 when the Cologne based
outfit pulled the plug on their Formula One project, he joined the Caterham F1
Team.
Pisanello will take over the role vacated by Dave Greenwood
who has joined Scuderia Ferrari as Kimi Raikkonen’s race engineer.
The Manor Marussia F1 Team is currently undergoing
restructuring after being rescued by Stephen Fitzpatrick and Pisanello’s appointment
is a key part in the changes at the team.
Manor Marussia Team Principal John
Booth stated that the team will be announcing other new appointments in the
future but are happy with the pool of young engineers coming through the team
at the moment.
