McLaren Honda just need time

The McLaren Honda Formula One team endured another difficult race weekend at the Circuit de Barcelona, Catalunya today as Jenson Button came home in 16th place, having qualified in 14th.

Fernando Alonso had a disappointing in contrast as the Spanish double world champion suffered a brake failure as he entered his pit-box, fortunately none of his mechanics were injured in the incident.
The Woking based outfit had brought a raft of updates for the MP4-30 this weekend but unfortunately they were unable to make the major step forward in performance that they were looking for. The team can take some consolation in the fact that on Friday during practice, Button ended up inside the top ten which a step in the right direction.

The team have struggled in the opening Grand Prix of the season, however this is down to the fact they are in a new relationship with Honda which is in the very early stages of development, the team were expecting there to be some problems this season as Honda are a year behind on development of the power unit compared to their competition. It will just take time and patience but things will work out for the partnership.
