The 99th running of the Indianapolis 500 takes
place on Sunday and ahead of the race the Indianapolis Motor Speedway announced
on Thursday that next year’s anniversary 100th Indianapolis 500 will
take place on Sunday 29 May.
The Indianapolis 500 is along with the Monaco Grand Prix in
Formula One and the LeMans 24 Hours World Endurance Championship one of the
most prestige motor racing events in the world and the highlight on the Verizon
IndyCar Series calendar and is the race that ever IndyCar driver wants to win.
Next year’s anniversary event will also be a historic event
as we will see an all-female IndyCar team compete with Katherine Legge driving
for the Grace Autosport team.
