Hulkenberg to start from P3 on World Endurance Championship debut at the Six Hours Of Spa for Porsche

The Sahara Force India Formula One Team’s Nico Hulkenberg who makes his debut in the World Endurance Championship with Porsche at the 6 Hours of Spa race has qualified in third place for the race.

Earlier this year it was announced that the German would split his Formula One commitments with a World Endurance Programme with Porsche who are running a third car for the first time at the 6 Hours of Spa. The Hulk will also race at this year’s LeMans 24 Hours race.

Following this weekend’s race, Hulkenberg will travel to Barcelona for the Spanish Grand Prix, the opening race of the European leg of the 2015 Formula One season.

The German has already stated that his drive with Porsche will not interfere with his Formula One career. Hulkenberg was extremely impressive in qualifying for the event as he out-qualified reigning World Endurance Champion Anthony Davidson, Audi’s Olivier Jarvis, Lucas Di Grassi, Sebastien Buemi and Kazuki Nakajima all WEC regulars.

Hulkenberg and his team mates missed out on pole position by just 0.258s with their Porsche team mates, Timo Bernhard, Brendon Hartley and former F1 rival Mark Webber. The Six Hours of Spa gets underway at 1.30PM (UK time) on Saturday and is live on EUROSPORT HD at 5.30PM.
