Formula One is set to be revamped from 2015 after team's provisionally agreed to drop one of the Free Practice sessions as a way of cutting costs.

Formula One's current format sees to Free Practice sessions take place on Friday, one in the morning and one later in the afternoon followed by a practice session before qualifying takes place on Saturday.

The new proposal is that there will be just the one practice session on a Friday which would take place in the late afternoon early evening in order to allow team's an extra day to arrive at the circuit and set up in the paddock.

According to reports team's have also agreed to:

  1. Ban in-season testing
  2. Limiting Pre-season testing from three to two (both could be held in Spain)
  3. The introduction of stricter Parc Ferme regulations which would stop team's from flying in overnight updates for their cars.
Any potential changes that want to be introduced must be approved by the FIA's World Motorsport Council which will hold a meeting later this month to discuss the potential changes.
