Marussia F1 Team principal John Booth has revealed that the Banbury squad have a renewed sense of belief following Jules Bianchi's 9th place finish in Monaco two week's ago. The team are now up to ninth in the Constructors championship on two point's and are ahead of both Caterham and Sauber.

Speaking to the Press Association Sport ahead of this weekend's Canadian Grand Prix Booth said:

'Hopefully it will help us secure our position in the Championship, which is good for our future. At the recent pre-season test in Barcelona we had a few small upgrades there, a few thousand pounds worth of bits, which really helped us a lot.'

The characteristics of the circuit in Montreal are a far cry from Monte Carlo, firstly the circuit is a semi permanent facility which requires a low down force set up due to the long straight's around the track. The weather can also be extremely unpredictable due to the fact that it is located on the artificial Il Notre Dame Island on the Saint Lawrence River.

Booth is hopeful that the performance gains that his team have made recently will enable them to get closer to the top ten this weekend.

Booth is hopeful that both Max Chilton and Jules Bianchi will both be able to challenge the midfield this weekend and potentially break into the top ten again this weekend.

The new regulations for 2014 has opened up the field in a big way which has allowed Marussia to close the gap and as a result of their extremely hard work they picked up their first point's in F1 and it will be only a matter of time before it will be the Caterham team's turn to pick up their first point's.
