Vettel studied Ricciardo's race data

Reigning world champion Sebastian Vettel has revealed that he has studied team mate Daniel Ricciardo's race data from previous Grand Prix events this season but has failed to see a pattern. Ricciardo has had a fantastic start to his Red Bull Racing career and has secured back to back third place finishes in Barcelona and again two week's ago in Monaco. Vettel said:

'Obviously he's been fairly quick, so you can imagine there have been corners where he's fairly quick! But it's good to see that and good to have a reference of what the car can do. If I look at myself it hasn't been the smoothest year but that's how it goes sometimes.'

Far from being discouraged by the fact that he has been out performed by his new team mate, Vettel revealed that he sees that as motivation for him for the rest of the 2014 season. The German was forced to retire from the last Grand Prix in Monaco.

He believes that his team are working extremely hard to catch up with Mercedes and in the last two event's the Milton Keynes based outfit have been best of rest behind the Mercedes duo and are currently in second place in the Constructors championship 141 point's behind the Silver Arrows.
