Formula One looks set to introduce standing starts following safety car periods during Grand Prix. The was mooted at a meeting in Biggin Hill in England on Wednesday. The idea, if approved would see cars reform on the grid as they do at the start of a Grand Prix after lapped cars have made their way to the back of the field.

The reason for this idea is to help increase the excitement for fans at Grand Prix events. The idea needs to be ratified by the World Motorsport Council that will meet in Munich next week to discuss new new regulations for 2015.

The F1 commission have backed the idea so as a result this idea is almost certainly going to get the go ahead.
